What’s new in Dota 2 IQ

Patch Notes

October 2026

Knowledge Gym

  • —New Knowledge Gym — learn Dota the way you’d learn a language: items, heroes, abilities, talents, timings, matchups, builds and esports, with every fact checked against two independent sources.
  • —Training uses spaced repetition, a science-backed memory method: cards come back right before you’d forget them, and you rate each answer Hard, Good or Easy. Prefer to just play? The endless Quiz covers any category — a hero, your hero pool, a matchup, items or the latest patch changes.
  • —Test yourself: a Daily Challenge that’s the same for everyone, and Survival with three lives and a shrinking clock.
  • —Live multiplayer — duels and parties of up to five, the same questions at the same time, with matchmaking, rated seasons and medals.
  • —A knowledge leaderboard, badges, and a Gym section on your profile with your streak, activity and recent games. A “How it works” page explains every rule and score.
  • —New loading screens with Dota art and a fact to read while you wait; match analysis shows its progress step by step, and the “notify me” alert now arrives when your results are actually on screen.
  • —A refreshed homepage, and your account is now one click away from every page.
September 2026

Accounts & profiles

  • —Create a Dota 2 IQ account with your email (confirmed by a link we send you) or sign in with Google in one click.
  • —New profile page — set your display name, manage your password, and link your Steam account.
  • —Link Steam once and your recent matches show up on your profile and the homepage whenever you’re signed in.
  • —When a match data source is temporarily down, we now tell you so and ask you to retry, instead of failing with a generic error.
June 2026

Quality of life

  • —New “Report a bug” button — flag anything broken or confusing from any page.
  • —The Itemization Trainer now tells Russian-language players which parts are English-only.
  • —Added this patch notes page so you can keep track of what’s changed.
May 2026

Awareness Trainer & leaderboards

  • —New Awareness Trainer — track enemy cooldowns, TPs, and item timings under real-time pressure, with adjustable difficulty.
  • —Global leaderboard with accuracy and timing-precision stats, not just a raw score.
  • —Match analysis now also benchmarks you against your specific enemy lineup, not only a generic baseline.
April 2026

Itemization Trainer

  • —New Itemization Trainer — a six-round item game where an AI coach grades every purchase against pro-tier play.
  • —“From Match” mode — replay one of your real games and compare what you actually built to the ideal.
  • —Quick item and ability quizzes to fill the wait while your match is analyzed.
March 2026

Match analysis launch

  • —Drop a match ID to get a 0–100 Fight IQ score for every teamfight.
  • —Percentile benchmarks against high MMR players across laning, farming, itemization, movement, and ability builds.
  • —Prioritized, specific recommendations for what to improve next.
